Chinese t-shirts, who checks the damn engrish?

Wow, so after a good almost 4 months I decide to write another entry, haha. There have certainly been plenty of times where I felt like writing something but I was just way too lazy. Blogs are tough things to keep up. I have the utmost respect for those of you that can keep a decent blog up-to-date. I cannot. Well, since my last entry which I have no idea what I wrote. Tons of things have changed. I'm about to journey to the forbidden city of the big apple, folks are leaving cpt, and Jerry and Rachel are having a baby quite soon. Man...things change quickly...and being grown up isn't half as fun as growing up (stolen from a good charlotte song). Anyways I hope to update more often as I turn my lifestyle 180 degrees.

OK...enough jabber, so my topic today is, who the hell checks the english on these shirts they make in china/taiwan. I'm sure we've all seen and owned shirts that say some really weird crap that makes absolutely no sense. Some we can immediately spot the spelling error, some we can immediately tell what they were trying to say by the graphics on the tees eventhough the text itself is completely wrong,and some(these are probably the best) just seem like they picked random irrelevant and maybe some relevant words and stuck them in a sentence like "music fun for harmony peace" Of course these shirts are definitely not limited to just one category for they could easily fall into all of them. For example, today my brother had a tank top on that said:

"1+0 One is not many, 1+1 One more are tow, 1+2 One and tow are a few"



So this shirt would fall into all categories, "two" is obviously spelled wrong, you can tell its supposed to be "two" and not "tow" by the graphics, and lastly it succeeds in making absolutely no sense at all.

Who creates the text that goes on these shirts, are these designers like, "Hey, I have a friend who's son/daughter took some english in school, he/she is supposed to be pretty good, we'll have him look at it" Obviously they did not read the sentence but merely spell checked each word.

Maybe it makes sense translated back into chinese ahh who knows. All in all, as much ranting as this post sounded like, they indeed produce some good times. Ok good night.

Btw, the free slurpee on 7/11 at 7-11 is probably not worth your drive there. But hey, you have to enjoy the good intentions of luring you there to buy snacks and candy.
